KENTON TRUST AND GOVERNANCE

The school, the purpose of which is to provide education to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13, is run on a not-for-profit basis by a company, Kenton College Trust, which is owned by a charitable trust. The directors of the company act as the Governors of the school, and they meet regularly at Kenton to determine planning and policy issues for the school.
None of the Governors receives remuneration in any form from Kenton College. It is the Governors’ responsibility to appoint the Headteacher, Financial Controller and/or the Estate Manager, (all of whom attend Governors’ meetings by invitation only) and to ensure that the school is being run in the manner required by the Governors.

It is important to appreciate that the Governors are not involved in the day to day running of the school so could not really help in matters of administration or the normal concerns of parents.

It is relatively easy to contact a Kenton Governor if the need arises. However, such a need should be extremely rare and the Governors should only be consulted if all other avenues open to parents have been exhausted.

Of course, if a parent has a concern about the Headteacher this should be addressed to the Chairman of Governors, but all other issues should be directed to school and, ultimately, the Headteacher.

The Chairman can be contacted through the school email : admin@kenton.ac.ke

The Board of Governors at Kenton College is totally committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people at the school.
