As the beautiful weather continues in Nairobi, I should remind all parents to ensure that their children have a bottle of suncream. It is roasting out on the sports fields and pool here at Kenton.
Please encourage your children to reapply their suncream whenever they know they are going out side, especially after lunch

The Inter House Swimming Gala will be held on Friday 6th March at 2pm here at Kenton.
I hope all pupils in the school will be training hard in the hope of scoring maximum points for their house.
The staff are busy preparing for their race against the parents with early morning training sessions. Are the parents?

As I sit here on a sunny afternoon contemplating the week just past, one incident stands out to me.
It was Wednesday afternoon and we were entertaining Pembroke here at Kenton. One of their Under 11 boys hit 67 not out against us. As the Pembroke innings closed and he stood there unbeaten, every single Kenton boy who was playing in the match shook his hand and said 'well batted' or 'well done' to him.
That is exactly the sort of sportsmanship we try to encourage here at Kenton. Well done to the under 11 boys for that.

Good luck to the Kenton 1st boys and girls cricket and rounders teams this weekend. They are playing the first inter school fixtures of the year out at Peponi Secondary this Saturday. Let's hope that the rain holds off over the other side of Nairobi for them. Teams meet there at 8.30am sharp.

Kenton Staff finished as Runners Up in the big inter schools staff cricket tournament held at The Banda in Nairobi last Sunday.
Mr. Asiji showed why he plays for Kenya with a splendid all round performance. Mr. Barnett thrashed a few 6's. Mr Burgess bowled superbly throughout the tournament and Mr. Gardner was voted player of the tournament. Mr. Odera reminded onlookers of a youthful Adam Gilchrist behind the stumps.
We had a fantastic win over The Banda, showing sheers class and domination throughout the game. A win over an invitational team of ex internationals sealed our runner up spot.
Now it is up to the boys to perform on the cricket field.
