What a great day this was! A whole Saturday of Rounders in some extremely scorching sun.
Our First match was against Pembroke. We had expected this to be a close on having beaten them by just a half last week. And so it turned to be! We fought hard and made some brilliant catches. We won the match by ONE Rounder.
We then played against Peponi and beat them 15 – 9.
Our final game was against Banda. We played this match with a lot of focus and fielding and we had great teamwork. Our fielding was superb and we managed to get a lot of their batters out. Hailey Gitau deserves to be mentioned for her great batting in this match. The match was close but in the end, we won 14 - 12.
Congratulations girls, for a fantastic start of the season. We still have a lot to polish but with discipline and determination, we should hope to do well in our coming fixtures.
Special mention goes to Marina Rozanski who was named ‘The player of the Tournament’. Thanks to Miss Mbochi and all those who came to support.

We have 3 Cross Country events that we are starting training for this term.
Firstly we have the Kenton Warm Up event, which involves 5 schools here at Kenton.
Secondly we have the St.Andrew's, Turi event.
Lastly, but most importantly we have the Inter House Cross Country event here at school. Every child in the school will run and represent their house.
There is also a staff and parents race at the end. Get training parents, as the staff are!! The feature of this parents/staff race will be the competition between Mr. Asiji and Mr. Aung. Mr. Odera has also said that he will beat Mr. Barnett this year. Will he?

As this term gets underway at Kenton, there are a few things to remember to bring to school:-
1. Suncream! It may not seem like it now, but it is going to be hot here in Nairobi- every child must wear suncream out on the sports field. Please ensure that your child has a tube in their bag.
2. Boxes- every child in Year 5 upwards who plays cricket with a hard ball must have their own box. This is for hygiene purposes. We have a simple rule in cricket Divs- 'no box, no batting.' Please make sure that your childs box is clearly named.
