Kenton Teachers Cricket Match |
Two Kenton Teachers represented the Kenya Pedagogues Cricket side on Saturday 12th January against the Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club at Nairobi Club.
Mr. Hockey and Mr. Barnett were the Kenton representatives in this thrilling cricket match at the excellent sporting facilities at Nairobi Club.
Fielding first, Mr. Hockey was soon put under pressure with some high balls coming down onto him. Luckily he held his nerve and took 2 fantastic catches.
Mr. Barnett took 2 wickets with his bowling, both caught and bowled.
The Kenya Kongonis declared on 204 for 8 after lunch.
Mr. Barnett opened the batting for the Kenya Pedagogues, but was soon on his way back to the pavillion, having been bowled out on his second ball!!
Mr. Hockey was the star of the batting, running hard between the wicket for well over an hour and playing some sumptious drives, powerful hooks and delicate tickles. He finished with a well earned 14.
Unfortunately this was not enough and the Kenya Kongonis won the match.
