Our Lent term activities were dominated by the political unrest in Kenya. In response to the troubles and desperate plight of the internally displaced people in Kenya, it was decided that proceeds from our February cake bake sale should go to the Red Cross.
As usual we received a mouth-watering selection of cakes and biscuits and raised a record-breaking Ksh 57,711.00. A kind donation of 100 Valentine roses, sold on the day of the school disco, raised an additional Ksh 28,800. This combined sum of money was spent on a mixture of flour, fat, sugar and salt given direct to a reliable contact at the Red Cross.
