KENTON SCHOOL NAIROBI BONFIRE NIGHT 2009
PARENT'S ASSOCIATION 2009/2010
November 7th dawned bright & sunny. Prelude to a thunderstorm perhaps? No, the weather was kind to Kenton & it reamined dry throughout. Kenton's bonfire night was once again a huge success. This annual event has clearly become "THE" bonfire night not to be missed! An inspired decision to include clowns, acrobats, men on stilts, fire jugglers and poporn & candyfloss machines added great entertainment to this year's Circus Theme evening. Kenton students delighted the crowds as they showed their talents on the stage dressed in circus fancy dress; the winners received stunning hand embroidered t-shirts kindly donated by Kenton parent Mr. Minal Shal, design Mrs. Annie Ndegwa. Children who didn't dress up were able to join the queue for face-painting/henna design/make-up or ran to try their luck at the new 'buns on the run' activity where Mr. Rozanski's mouth-watering donuts hung tantalizingly on Mr. Doughty & Mr. Hockey's ingenious pulley system - no hands please, this activity is for mouths only! Once again, Mr. Woodham's drive over rugged terrain in his No 39 safari rally vehicle proved popular and was one of the bigger meny earners, thank you Mr. & Mrs. Woodham. A fun evening, all seven activities were well attended & no-one wanted the evening to end. Success of this Kenton's largest annual fundraising event can only be achieved with the help of our generous Kenton parents who privided prizes & gave their time to help before & during the event; and those companies without any connection whatsoever to Kenton who generously donated prizes. Because of the success of Bonfire Night the PA is able to contribute money to the Kigulu Shelter building fund - see www.kigulu.webs.com The PA 2009/2010 sends a great big "THANK YOU EVERYONE"
