The Junior Science review for the academic year 2009-2010.
The Junior School have been quite active this year. The Year 4s went to the Wetlands at the Carnivore Restaurant in the Michaelmas Term. Here, they learnt how all the kitchen and sewage water is collected and recycled using all natural methods of Permaculture. It was amazing how such foul, stinking water could be recycled in such a way as to be safe enough to drink.
The last week of the Michaelmas Term saw Science week in the Junior School. The Year 2s had a wonderful time studying minibeasts. They collected various bugs to observe, then went on a fabulous minibeast walk around the grounds.
Year 3s studied birds in and around Kenton, learning about their habitats and ways of life. They too had a wonderful time bird watching and collecting information and data.
The Year 4s studied artificial and natural habitats of living creatures on the property. They collected data and created interesting booklets of their findings. They also wrote some lovely poems to complement their booklets.
